Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of every month and on Maundy Thursday. It is a time when we commemorate the last meal that Jesus had with His twelve disciples before He was crucified. Communion, a sacrament of the church, is open to all who love the Lord and earnestly want to be His disciple. As we take the elements of Communion we are reminded that Jesus is the Christ who came to ultimately sacrifice Himself in order that all humanity would have access to eternal life.
Baptisms are a part of our worship and may be arranged for the third Sunday of the month. Being baptized represents a total association with Christ and involves a decision to commit oneself to Christ forever. Therefore, it is encouraged that all infants, children, and adults be baptized. Baptism is one of the two sacraments recognized by the Protestant church (the other sacrament being Holy Communion). Individuals expressing a desire to be baptized are asked to contact Phyllis Cardwell or call the church office. Adult candidates and the parents and Godparents of children candidates will meet with the minister on the Thursday prior to Baptism Sunday.
Children’s Church, for ages 4 through 8, is not available at this time.
The Intercessory Prayer Group meets in the sanctuary every Saturday morning at 8:00 am to pray on behalf of families, community, and the world. It is a time of praise and worship, as well. All are welcome to come and join. In addition, once a quarter throughout the year, the sanctuary is opened on a Thursday morning, starting at 7 am, and remains open all day for anyone who desires to come in for a time of meditation and prayer. At 7 pm, as the day is coming to a close, a Prayer Service is held in the sanctuary.
